My #WCW: The Reason I’m A Doula
Now, it’s necessary, here, to point out that being a Trendsetter™ is not the same as being trendy. I don’t regularly post on Instagram. I don’t use Snapchat. Heck, I don’t even own a Fedora. But today, I’m happy to use any trendy excuse I can to share about a woman I admire, my mom… my #wcw.
Dear Doula: I’m Hungry All The Time!
Everything is really going so well. Except, at night, as soon as I sit down to nurse, I am STARVING! I was really careful during my pregnancy to eat well and gained just 21 lbs. I’ve been trying to continue with my healthy eating now that I’m breastfeeding, but I’m really struggling during nursing sessions. I just want to eat everything in sight, especially at night! I have never felt so hungry. Is this normal?

Who Are These People (And Why Are They Here)?
When planning for the birth of your baby, you probably already have an idea of who will be present: your partner, your doula, your provider, and an L&D nurse. You might not expect a few additional faces to also step into your labor space as birth becomes imminent. Who are these people?

5 Things I Wish I’d Known Then

It didn’t take long for me to realize just how misguided I was. Below are the five things I wish I’d known when starting out.
My Journey Through Postpartum Depression and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder | Part 1
I know, firsthand, how hard it is for parents to admit they're suffering. I made it through and I can barely talk about it almost a year later. So I'm forcing my own hand (or fingers, rather). This month is National Mental Health Awareness Month and I am determined to get my story out in the hopes of helping another parent recognize their symptoms and seek help earlier.
Below is Part One. Stay tuned for Parts 2 and 3 (or who knows how many since I haven't written them yet). I have never felt so vulnerable as I do standing on the precipice of this blog series. Thank you for reading.
