Meet Rachele Cafazo
Rachele Cafazo, RN, is a labor and postpartum and infant care doula serving Greater Cincinnati. Let’s get to know her a little better.
How long have you lived in the Cincinnati area?
I grew up in Cincinnati for the better part of 13 years. After a few years away, I'm back to the 513!
What do you love about living in Cincinnati?
I love that Cincinnati feels like a small town in a city. You probably only have one or two degrees of separation from that stranger across the street, and I just think that's so cool. There's also such a distinct food and arts culture here that I love.
What's your favorite place to eat in Cincinnati?
Ché, an authentic Argentinian restaurant in OTR. Absolutely no contest.
Goldstar or Skyline?
Skyline baby
UC or XU?
No stake in the game. I'm a UK fan through and through.
What does your ideal Saturday look like?
Ideally I spend most of my day outside, either hiking or taking a windows-down drive or beekeeping. Then I'd spend some time with family, have a UDF milkshake, and wrap up the night by going downtown with friends.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
New Zealand
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A geologist or naturalist! I had a massive rock collection and spent my childhood studying the wildlife around me.
Why did you become a doula?
I didn't know I wanted to be a doula. I saw it as a stepping stone to midwifery initially. But after taking my trainings, I fell in love with the unbiased, non-judgmental support I could provide to families of all backgrounds. Being someone who helps a new parent or family find their inner strength and confidence has been the most rewarding work of my life.
