Meet Ashley Dare

Ashley Dare is a labor and postpartum and infant care doula, and infant feeding specialist serving Greater Cincinnati. We’re so excited to have her on our team. Let’s get to know her a little better.

How long have you lived in the Cincinnati area?

I just moved back to the Cincinnati area after 2 years away. Prior to that I lived here for six years. I am so happy to be home!

What do you love about living in Cincinnati?

I love that there is always something to do.

What does your ideal Saturday look like?

My ideal Saturday is spent with my family at a local festival, or at a playground with my kids. We also love to host our friends for game nights!

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I would go to Greece!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be anything that had me involved with babies and new families!

Why did you become a doula?

I have been drawn to pregnancy, L&D, and postpartum families my entire life. When I first heard the word doula when I was 15, I knew what I would do with my life. After having my own children, experiencing two back-to-back miscarriages, and struggling with postpartum depression and anxiety, I saw firsthand the immense need for support for families experiencing the roller coaster of pregnancy and parenting and decided to take the dive into the doula world.

Ten Interesting Facts About Ashley:

1. I love to bake, and grind all of our grains into flour at home for my baking! Fresh ground flour is heaven.

2. I collect mugs, especially those with fun or snarky phrases.

3. I am terrified of birds and fish.

4. Almost every single person in my extended family shares a birthday with another family member. The trend continued when even my husband's family shares birthdays with my family! (I share a birthday with my aunt and mother-in-law!)

5. I love to learn and easily become engrossed in learning a new thing.

6. I love TV shows and have seen "my shows" numerous times and quote them often.

7. I love to decorate our house for any holiday or season. We have WAY too many boxes of seasonal décor in our basement.

8. I have moved 15 times in my life (and we aren't even a military family!). It's my new mission to never move again.

9. I am the middle of five kids and I am very close to my family.

10. I have a goal to be fluent in American Sign Language.
