HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN THE CINCINNATI AREA?
I've lived in Cincinnati pretty much my whole life. We spent 5 years living in Michigan when I was a kid, but I've always called Cincinnati home.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT LIVING IN CINCINNATI?
The Cincinnati Art Museum is one of my favorite places, it has been since I was a small child. I love spending time at the Cincinnati Zoo and the parks around town.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT IN CINCINNATI?
I love food, so this is a hard one for me. I'd have to say Boca followed closely by Nicola's, Abigail Street and Senate. Also, I'm a firm believer in "when in doubt, order the lamb", unless there is duck on the menu.
GOLDSTAR OR SKYLINE?
Skyline. I prefer Skyline on Ludlow...I don't know, it just tastes better.
UC OR XU?
The Art Academy "Stinks"
WHAT DOES YOUR IDEAL SATURDAY LOOK LIKE?
Family gatherings are at the top of my list. Everyone brings a dish, and we spend the day eating, talking, and playing with kids. No matter how much space is available, inevitably we all end up crammed in the kitchen. It's the best.
IF YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?
Ever since I studied the art of ancient India in college, I've dreamt about traveling India to see all of the rich architecture and cave paintings. And of course...eat.
WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP?
When I was 5 years old, I had it all worked out: I wanted to work at McDonald's as a cashier and live in an RV. My reasoning: as a cashier I could talk to people all day long; McDonald's has restaurants all over the world so I would always have a job; living in an RV meant I could always take my home with me.
WHY DID YOU BECOME A DOULA?
Caring for, nurturing, educating and empowering people are what I enjoy. My personal birth experience helped me recognize that I could tie together what I studied in school with those characteristics. Being a doula means I get to do all of those things, every day.
